Abstract:
P. Blonsky`s book "Psychological Essays" includes five parts, which cover such topics as sleep, primitive waking life, incomplete awakening, and full wakefulness. Separately, P. Blonsky considered the problematics of the rough scheme of general features of human behavior. In "Psychological Essays", various mechanisms of the sleep process and physiological features of this phenomenon are considered in detail. The author pays much attention to such problems as synesthesia, greserstvo, eidetism, etc. The well-known theories (Kretschmer, Pavlov) are considered and critically analyzed. The problematics of processes related both to the unconscious state (sleep, dreams) and to cognitive characteristics (sensation, perception, memory, thinking and its various types) are disclosed. Issues related to the study of personality (e.g., within the framework of constitutional theory) are addressed separately. The book presents a variety of data that relate to the study of humans from the perspectives of psychology, anatomy, physiology, evolutionary and comparative approaches to their behavior.
