Abstract:
The monograph is devoted to the study of psychological defense of personality, its essence, structure, mechanisms, functions and types. The system of scientific knowledge about psychological protection as a means of realization of higher goals and the meaning of being in one`s own life is developed. Connections of psychological defense with emotions, character and health of a person are investigated. Spiritual factors influencing the emergence of defense processes and diseases are revealed. The reasons for the appearance of destructive defense mechanisms and methods of their overcoming, developed in modern psychology and psychotherapy, the holy-theological tradition are analyzed. The role of spirituality in the formation of psychological defense of a person in crisis life situations is shown. The author`s theory of psychological defense of a person from the standpoint of Christian anthropology is offered.
