Abstract:
[The questionnaire "Group functions" from number of scales was applied in three youth organizations of sports and patriotic orientation in Moscow for pupils of 13—22 years old for comparison with the results identified in groups of their peers in Italy. The main function of the group in all experimental organizations is "Collective Self-Assessment". The indicators were high on the scales "Self-understanding and social understanding", "Entertainment and fun" and - rarely - "Romantic relationship". The indicators on the scales "Social interaction" and "Self-expression" are quite high. Members of three organizations note a favorable psychological climate in the communities. The conducted research has shown what functions of such a reference group as children`s and youth public organizations are of paramount importance for modern adolescents and young men. The identity of the functioning and development of adolescent and youth associations, which are universal for different countries, has been established.]
