Abstract:
Child development in early childhood is the basis of the whole further person`s life path. Understanding this imposes a great responsibility on us, adults. What are, in fact, development and upbringing, relevant to child`s nature? How to organize the work of kindergarten, so that development of children should be fullfill and versatile and, at the same time, joyful and natural? Different early development systems answer these questions in very different ways. What makes the Waldorf kindergarten different from other children`s institutions? How do Waldorf teachers present the main essence of their work? What is their pedagogical philosophy? What exactly they do in their daily work, in order to promote the development of abilities and dispositions, inherent in child individualities? In this small book we tried to answer these questions. The main readers, to whom this book is designed, are parents. For teachers, psychologists and anyone who is interested in issues of child development and preschool pedagogy, the book includes short excursions, some footnotes are done, related to philosophy of education, theory of development, game theory, methods of work, etc. A separate section is devoted to questions that parents often ask: child's readiness for school, and balance of Waldorf pedagogy and pedagogy on M. Montessori. The appendix gives a few concrete examples from practice.
