Bazarkina. [Personal resources and patterns of behavior in critical situations in adolescence and adulthood (in different cultural and historical conditions): Abstract of the dissertation]

Abstract:
Within the interdisciplinary investigation of personal resources and coping behavioral strategies – typical for youths and middle-aged people in Central Russia, Caucasus, Italy –author uncovered regional, age and gender-specific personal resources, including patterns of coping behaviors in various cultural and historical contexts. Age-related changes were demonstrated of some personality indicators: resilience, activity, optimism, life meaningfulness, existential fulfillment. It was shown that, in the life segment from adolescence to adulthood, both the activity and resilience reduce, and in extremal situations fulness of life and existential execution became priority meaning resources, as far as an unproductive confrontation coping strategy used more rarely. The results will help to predict risk in youth and maturity within process of living and overcoming critical situations. Gender differences were represented to a lesser extent than age and regional ones.
