The dissertation regards such components of first-graders' school life as the level of their cognitive development, degree to which their academic skills are formed, their school readiness, dynamics of academic achievements in the 1-st grade, success in interpersonal relations with group of peers and in interrelations with a teacher. The special attention is paid to the study of relationships between the child statuses in a group of peers and academic achievements' dynamics as depending on adequacy of teacher's estimation of child cognitive potential. The data obtained in the study makes it possible to extend basic knowledge about socio-psychological factors promoting to successful attainment of academic skills in first-grade schoolchildren which in its turn gives an insight into the reserves of socio-psychological impact on learning efficiency in the 1-st grade.
