Abstract:
From the standpoint of Christian anthropology, the overcoming of destructive and the formation of constructive psychological protection and psychological well-being — are in line with an inner personal development. Understanding the phenomenon of personal health in the context of the Christian doctrine of man nature, led us to understanding of health itself as a holistic multi-level formation, including psychophysical and spiritual-psychological levels. The main components of spiritual and moral protection, which occupies the highest level in the hierarchical system of psychological protection of any person, are singled out: spiritual and religious values, as well as special spiritual states and personal qualities. It is shown here, that spiritual and moral protection is a qualitatively different type of regulation of the psyche and stabilization of the personality in comparison with subconscious psychological protection. Its primary goal is to protect one`s deep spiritual Self — the main center of a person`s ontological being — from negative spiritual and moral factors that destroy him in the process of life. Their awareness enables a person to resist them, eradicate them in himself, maintain the integrity of his psyche and an adequate self-concept, strengthen the spiritual and moral basis of his personality and ensure coping with strong feelings and stressful situations.
