Abstract:
The relevance of the research topic is conditioned by the problems of patriotic and moral education in the conditions of education reform in Russia. The preparation of young people for military service and education of future officers requires special attention. The potential of forms of social education in the development of professional duty also remains insufficiently studied in modern pedagogical theory. To study it, the present study was conducted. A total of 220 students and 50 experts, who were heads of faculties, employees of departments of educational work, cultural and leisure centers, teaching staff, representatives of public organizations of Golitsyn, Moscow, Kaliningrad border institutes, as well as Moscow City Psychological and Pedagogical University, took part in the study. They filled out a questionnaire, which reveals the average indicator of significance for students of the criteria of professional duty development. Next, a forming experiment was conducted on the basis of the Golitsyn Frontier Institute. Two identical groups were formed (2nd year, 20 people in each). At the beginning of the experiment they answered the questions of the questionnaire. Then they were influenced by a complex of forms of social education. According to the results of the study it was revealed that the level of the studied attribute in the experimental group is higher than in the control group. The author concludes that the formation of professional duty in military cadets through forms of social education is a purposeful organized socio-pedagogical process. It involves the training of specialists for military departments based on the use of transformative educational opportunities. To improve the effectiveness of this process, various forms of social education can be implemented, such as involving students in socially significant professional activities, participation in military-patriotic actions, interaction with veteran and youth organizations, following the ideals of professionalism. Professional duty includes moral, activity, volitional, social components and is formed through the whole system of social education.
