Abstract:
The reference points for family nurturing in Russia and Switzerland have been identified. Along with the general tendencies, for Moscow parents the success of child in future, purposefulness and decency is of particular importance. Geneva parents prefer to see their child as person being respectful, respecting other people, socially integrated, having a critical mind. The broadcasted priority values have a cultural specificity. So, Russian parents emphasize the education of kindness and responsiveness to people; Swiss ones - on respect for people and themselves, the world around them. Methods of punishment for Swiss parents are more humane (conversation, explanations, discussions, "postponement" of punishment). Russian parents more often use verbal aggression and method of limiting mobility, which is uncharacteristic of Swisses. All parents consider it possible to communicate with computer from preschool age. Most Swiss parents, unlike Russian parents, see computer appointment in child teaching and development.
