Abstract:
It was shown that social anxiety is increased in a third of preschool children and adolescents populations, and 10% of preschool children and 7% of adolescents demonstrate a very high level and behavioral disorders. For adolescents with a high level of social anxiety, it is typical a shortage of constructive interpersonal links and a lack of emotional support. A high level of social anxiety among adolescents is associated with dysfunctions in the style of emotional communication whithin family, with elimination of emotions and value of external well-being. Preschoolers have a significant connection with factor of parental criticism. Adolescents with high social anxiety negatively assess their effectiveness in school and demonstrate a pronounced suicidal tendencies. The highest level of social anxiety was observed in adolescents with an immature type of gender identity. A high level of social anxiety among adolescents is associated with personal factors of perfectionism, hostility and the use of maladaptive coping strategies.
