Abstract:
The negative attitude to representatives of other nationalities is associated with the preference for emotional-oriented coping style, when "negativistic" ethno-national installation – with task-oriented style. Hostility to "other" nationalities in boys 16—18 ages is associated with help-searching in life problems, and – to a lesser extent — with a penchant for aggressive confrontation. More older ages, are dominated by positive revaluation strategy (search for deep sense of difficult situations, often coupled with the religious), which is related to settings of high significance of "national" as a whole. Therefore, we can talk about a general rethinking of national phenomenon after the age of 60. Based on the coping mechanisms of the behavior, "nationalist" setting for men and women are fundamentally different. One and the same vector in international relations for men and women has a different meaning, which manifests itself in choice of different strategies for coping in difficult situations.
