Abstract:
A saturated scientific information search was conducted, as far as remote empirical data were revealed, on the connection between youth physical perfectionism of 18—23 age and their emotional desadaptation (anxiety, depression), dissatisfaction with their body and perfection of own appearance - without any somatic or vital indications, but with a potential health risk. The position of physical perfectionism in general structure of perfectionism as a personal trait, in megacities and provinces, was demonstrated here. Motivation was analyzed — as conviction in the key importance of appearance for successful socialization and personality formation. For the first time, it was demonstrated the role of macrosocial factors (living environment and family factor of dysfunctional communication style) in formation of physical perfectionism among young people. In particular, there are factors of: parental criticism, external well-being, family perfectionism (in form of educating the girl in artificially set high standards as ways to perfection); all this were critically expounded.
