Abstract:
The features of the relationship between socio-psychological adaptation and personal egocentrism in adolescents were studied. The work was carried out with students of senior classes of secondary schools. The author came to the conclusion that less successful adaptation is associated with higher personal egocentrism, as well as isolation, less freedom in interaction, and a decrease in positivity towards oneself and others. It is shown here, that the success of socio-psychological adaptation is associated with the severity of sociocentric characteristics. The phenomenon of "imaginary audience" and its influence on the self-esteem of a teenager are described. It is shown too, that the specificity of adaptation also depends on the ratio of the severity of egocentric and sociocentric components. The age specificity of the relationship between socio-psychological adaptation and egocentrism-sociocentrism is shown. Adolescents with more pronounced sociocentric and at the same time egocentric indicators are more adapted at socium.
