The paper attempts to comprehensively and deeply analyse such a socio-psychological phenomenon in the youth environment as music fanaticism. For the first time, music fanaticism is diagnosed empirically on the basis of a psychometrically validated questionnaire — the author`s methodology for diagnosing music fanaticism. The study considers the addictive personality primarily in the context of social ties and inclusion in various social groups. The methodology used in the study and aimed at diagnosing musical fanaticism can be used in school psychological service, counselling centres of psychological help for children and adolescents for early detection of addictive personality.
