Bochkova, Meshkova. [Emotional intelligence and social interaction: foreign studies]

Abstract:
The article regards the current state of the problem of emotional intelligence as a key competence demonstrating an increasing relevance. It highlights approaches of foreign authors to structure and diagnosis of this competence. Particular attention is paid to the impact of emotional intelligence and its components on the types of social interaction and prosocial and deviant behavior. The article gives examples of mediators of the discovered links. It also outlines directions for further study of emotional intelligence within its connection with aggression and manipulation in the process of interacting with the environment. The article also considered gender-specific aspects of emotional intelligence in behavior and the problem of development of emotional intelligence in dynamics. The authors of the article concluded that in the process of development of a person`s emotional intelligence one should pay close attention to his/her personality, in order to prevent risks of deviant and delinquent behavior.
