Abstract:
The article examines the interconnection of Moscow youngsters{'} ethnic attitudes and preferable strategies of coping with stressful situations having situational context. The research involved 105 people aged 16 to 19 years, being high school students and first-year university students. The subjects of the research were offered to recollect and give a detailed verbal description of a stressful situation. This article describes the way the designation of a stressful situation, connected with the nationality phenomenon, influence the choice of coping strategies and ethnic attitudes. The results indicate differences in using the strategy of responsibility acceptance, in patriotic and neutral ethnic attitudes among youngsters, who described various stressful situations.
