Abstract:
The article is devoted to the problem of determinism in modern psychology. The influence of Cartesian paradigm on understanding of causality is discussed here, as well as the representation of Aristotle`s doctrine about four causes of everything in modern psychology. The main types of causal inference are highlighted here, and it is shown that rigid schemes of causality coexist with other schemes, which are atypical from the point of view of new European concept of causality. It is also shown, that the development of new schemes is primarily associated with the search for specifically human determinants of development process.
