Abstract:
The discussion problems of interrelations between L. S. Vygotsky`s theory of higher psychic functions development and A. N. Leontiev`s activity theory in the context of theoretic basis of P. I. Zinchenko`s research are considered. The author argues that these theories form mutually supplementary unity and potentially maybe united into one theory. The review of the main results of P. I. Zinchenko`s research of arbitrary and involuntary mediated memory is presented. Due to high heuristic potential of cultural-historical and activity approaches original methods were worked out and fundamental mnemonic effects were heuristically studied (much later they were independently found anew in cognitive psychology, generation effect and depth of processing effect included). The patterns of arbitrary and involuntary mediated memory development found by P. I. Zinchenko play important role in modern research of memory development.
