Abstract:
[A family, in broad sense, can significantly affect the formation of intellectual means, while the process of child socialization, passing on socio-cultural experience to him, forming intellectual skills and skills of mental activity. The authoritarian style of upbringing ensures the child intellectual "training", develops formal logic, discipline, but suppresses the development of the actual cognitive motivation of children. In families with a soft upbringing style, any undertakings from child are supported, cognitive interests are developed, but - at the same time, - parents do not pay due attention to the operational and technical means of realizing their interests. Empirically revealed the absence of a statistically significant relationship between the style of family education and the level of intellectual initiative as the main criterion for the creative potential of an individual. The importance of the motivational sphere development for child's personality is discussed - the breadth of his connections with the world. The democratic style of family education provides the child with the discovery of the possibilities of the world around him, teaches him to adequately interact with him and gives the child the right to choose his own path. This is the true contribution of the family to the development of children. By definition, it is impossible to form a creative personality in a directed manner.]
