Abstract:
[The article compares natural and procedural reconciliation, which occurs due to the participation of a specially trained mediator, mediator, using the example of real situations from practice. Mediation can affect the quality of subsequent relationships between participants. Mediation “unpacks” the curtailed process of natural reconciliation, giving the victims the opportunity to get answers to the questions that tormented them, but which they did not dare to ask, and the offenders to become more aware of their misconduct and think over targeted measures to prevent this from happening in the future. Mediation "works" not only for the process of dialogue between the parties and the restoration of their relations, this procedure has a great potential for initiating personal changes in the participants, in contrast to reconciliation in natural conditions. Mediation brings to the reconciliation process values, that were not sufficiently realized by the parties, thanks to mediation they have been updated and will continue in the future. Mediation allows the parties to gain a more real and rich understanding of the other person, which helps build relationships and restore a sense of security and relief from negative feelings associated with the "enemy image".]
