Boldinova. [The link between temporal orientation and coping strategies for students — psychologists]

Abstract:
During service process with students, we have seen problems in their learning, difficulties in relationships with co-students, teachers, parents, and, also, - various strategies for coping with difficult situations. We were interested in the factors that influence on the choice of a coping strategy. We hypothesized, that the process of certain coping strategies choice may be associated with specificity of their time perspective. It was turned out that students – psychologists were characterized by the use of number of productive coping strategies, including "planning problem solution", "acceptance of responsibility", "search for social support." Most students-psychologists in difficult situations choose to use a strategy of "troubleshooting." In the majority, students-psychologists are trying to cope with their problem, using all own available resources for effective coping with difficult life situations.
