Abstract:
The author investigates the individual psychological characteristics of creative opera-singer person in relation to his/her type of voice. These factors were empirically confirmed to be interrelated. Through research line "Personality-Image" it was demonstrated that there exists a link between the actor’s personality characteristics and the image s/he created. A similar connection was confirmed in research line "Image-Voice". Distribution of the studied psycho-types was not tied to a gender factor. The obtained results can be the basis for the development of special psychotherapy methods — vocal therapy and auto-music-psychotherapy, and also be used as techniques of "acting out" the client's emotional states with application of various vocal images (exchange of musical roles, musical mirror). These techniques allow music therapists to significantly extend the range of their activity by involving opera vocal materials.
