Abstract:
The conceptual relation between level of younger adolescent′s (10-12 ages) mental development and their school achievements was investigated. The empirical confirmation was received about the legitimacy of private working hypothesis, claimed, that in this age: 1) a high level of intellectual development does not guarantee as equally high level of school achievement; 2) explanatory-style for successes and failures explaining – is a factor of significantly influence on the level of educational achievements: it was seen that teens-pessimists study better and achieve more. Pessimistic explanatory-style is leveled, and the ratio of "optimist-pessimist" is equalized in the fifth stage already, The reason for that may be features of agening, personal characteristics and behaviors. It is important to understand, how universal are such trends, and whether they will show up in another age - in the context of another leading activity and another social situation of development.
