Abstract:
The article discusses experiments in the field of studying human motivation, which were conceived and implemented under the direct influence of the ideas of A. N. Leontiev. The results of three studies conducted on the general basis of A. N. Leontiev`s theoretical positions on the structure of activity, the structure of individual consciousness, personality parameters, and the role of motives and emotions "in the movement of activity" are presented. The first of them is devoted to the study of the problem of mental tension, the second and third are a series of works aimed at developing a methodology relevant to the study of the motivational and semantic sphere of personality (the technique of indirect posthypnotic suggestions) and an experimental analysis of the motives of prosocial behavior using this technique.
