Abstract:
[This teaching aid presents a wide range of philosophical ideas, as well as features of modern world and culture, under influence of which the concept of inclusion has developed. In particular, for the first time in our literature, the social constructionist foundations of the concept of inclusion and the social model of disability, are systematically considered, and their critical analysis is given here. This book also outlines a brief history of the emergence of ideas about collaborative learning for people with and without disabilities - from the concept of normalization and integration to inclusion, discusses their differences and lines of continuity. The variety of interpretations of inclusion is also considered here - from complete inclusion without alternatives to inclusion in presence of full range of alternative conditions, risks and benefits of various models of inclusion are widely discussed too. The fourth chapter presents us the main categories and methodological approaches to the organization of inclusive education, that have received recognition in modern practice (individual approach, differentiated learning, universal educational design, co-teaching, etc.).
