Abstract:
The article considers the characteristics of the process of computerization and the relationship between this process and higher education. The purpose of higher education is the formation of capabilities and abilities of a person who is a specialist in a particular field. These capabilities and abilities should be manifested, including the readiness for constant, conscious restructuring (including at the level of the system as a whole), associated with the transformation of knowledge in their activities. To achieve this goal it is necessary to provide opportunities, means and skills related to the constant updating of knowledge and skills. Computerization of higher education has great prospects in this area. At the same time, we should not forget that there are two main trends in education: "specialization" and "universalization". It is also necessary to develop the direction related to the preparation of a specialist for problem solving as a creative activity in higher education.
