A fairly complete overview, presented in the monograph on sign — language, as one of the equal languages types, help for the better understanding the nature of human language in general, and will also allow for a fresh look at their linguistic research. The monograph is intended for teachers and teachers of educational institutions, working with wholly deaf and hearing-impaired people; for employees of social institutions and medical institutions; for parents of deaf children; for students enrolled in educational programs, adapted for teaching people with hearing impairments. The investigation was executed under grant from Russian Federation Education Ministry inside framework of the Program «Development of Scientific Potential of Higher Education (2009—2010 years, 2011)» at Project «Development of methodical and software design of educational programs for hearing-disabled».
