Abstract:
The paper explores the concept of self-identity of the individual, viewed through the prism of the dualism of cultural and natural. It discusses the criticism of traditional approaches to disability and inclusion, where disability is perceived not as an individual problem, but as a social construct. Attention is focused on the stigmatising potential of the disability discourse, and its negative consequences for people with disabilities are revealed. Inclusion is defined as a policy of social acceptance aimed at removing barriers and creating an atmosphere of acceptance. However, questions are raised about the duality of the concept of inclusion, which, while seeking to refocus attention from the individual to society, still emphasises the status of "otherness". The paper also touches upon the importance of moving from the recognition of physical features to their cultural significance, and discusses the realisation of bodily-affective practices as a means of shaping the subjectivity and reflexivity of the individual in a cultural context.
