Abstract:
[There are a lot of culturally determined and nationally specific phraseological units in English language, as in most literary languages at all. Knowledge and use of vocabulary with a nationally determined cultural component means a high level of language proficiency. The problems of phraseology and adequate transmission of national coloring in translations are discussed here. Taking into account the national and cultural specifics of language units contributes to a deeper study of a foreign language, familiarization with the culture of the country of the target language, increases the motivation of students, makes classes brighter and more interesting. And a person who understands what and how he thinks, feels, perceives a representative of another culture, has intercultural competence. Such a person can take an active part in intercultural communication.]
