Abstract:
The authors of the article carry out theoretical analysis and experimental investigation of the interactions between "emotional burnout" and "egoism" concepts. The results obtained give an opportunity to make a conclusion concerning the influence of the "basic" egoism of an individual on the degree of his emotional burnout. Thus the high scores on the "basic" egoism scale become a kind of contra-indication for a person's work in helping professions. At the same time, the higher levels of the "Egoism" system and person's self-actualization are proved to be the factors which prevent from the burnout.
