Abstract:
The article focuses on the comparative analysis of research trends in the area of cyberpsychology in Russia and abroad. The relevance of the article is determined by the need to correlate developmental lines of foreign and Russian cyberpsychology and to identify perspectives for further studies in this area. The review contains a retrospective analysis of articles (2007 – May 2017) from 11-Russian scientific peer-reviewed journals, 7 of which are included in the database of Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) at the platform of Web of Science, and two foreign scientific journals of psychosocial researches on cyberspace, also included in the Web of Science database. The results show that most of the research areas that are developed in Russia and abroad, are related to the study of influences of computer games on the life of modern children and adolescents. The topics of interest that can also be found in both national and foreign studies are as follows: Internet addiction, the specificity of social networking, specificity of education, psychotherapy and rehabilitation online, designing new forms of identity, self-presentation and self-revelation in virtual space, dependence of human behavior in Internet on their individual traits and mental states, cyberbullying. Nevertheless, there is a time lag in the development of several areas in Russian cyberpsychology in comparison to foreign trends, namely, in the analysis of child and teen’s behavior in Internet in the context of child-parent relations.
