Abstract:
Within a longitudinal experiment, we studied the relationships between level of emotional intelligence and intellectual evolution in adolescents, nameky in the sample of Moscow high school students of 10—13 ages, divided into groups according to the level of intellectual evolution. We describe the theoretical basis and methodical approaches. Predominant in the sample turned out to be an average level of intelligence. Typical facts for development of intellectual abilities of teenagers (from the line of visual thinking to the structural and dynamic visual ones), may be associated with features of training at school age and pre-school play. The main hypothesis of this study is about the existence of significant relationships between level of emotional intelligence to level of general intelligence in schoolchildren (adolescence) was confirmed. These links were really found, and in most cases they were negative, that is, the more higher is the overall intelligence in adolescents, the lower their emotional intelligence is.
