Abstract:
This is a Review material. The data on the state of the school network for the blind, deaf-mute and mentally retarded children are presented. In connection with the implementation of the Law on Universal Education, the question of developing a network of auxiliary schools for the mentally retarded and special schools for blind and deaf-mute children must be urgently raised. Schools refuse them admission due to lack of vacancies. Data are given on the state of pedagogical and educational work and on the organization of the schools themselves, as well as on labor education. The principles of socio-political education and self-organization of the children`s team in auxiliary and specialized institutions are listed on specific examples and reports. The need to take into account the work of the school is indicated.
