Abstract:
This digest aims to highlight some issues in the theory of mental retardation, and to acquaint readers with the results of experimental research. These researches were carried out at the Epstein Experimental Defectological Institute under leadership of L. Vygotsky. Needless to say, that this digest in no way claimsto comprehensively embracingthe main problems of a mentally retarded status, as it is really. If the works placed in the book, offered to the readers` attention, will clarify some issues of mentally retarded child development, and will give impetus to further research, we will consider that our task is completed.
